1998 was Jason’s first full year of traveling to National Events throughout the southern states. Jason won two national events. One USCS race in Winona, Ms. and an ASCS race in Rusk, TX.

During the 1999 season, Jason decided that a change was needed to become more informed about the sprint car racing industry. He took the opportunity to work for Steve Kinser, the 18 time World of Outlaw Sprint Car Champion.  The commitment to learn from the best in the business enabled him to become an expert on maintenance and experience traveling across the United States.

In year 2000, Jason accomplished his lifelong goal of becoming a professional race car driver.  Teaming up with Lanny and Alan Row of “The SHOP Motorsports” in Greenville, TX., and Jason won the “Holiday of Thunder” race in Sedalia, Missouri on Memorial Day.  Shortly after, he won again at newly built, Houston Raceway Park in Houston, TX. But his winning didn’t stop until he dominated the U.S. Dirt Nationals at the Action Track in Terre Haute, Indiana. Jason clinched third place in the ASCS National Point Championship. Jason also won the “Most Improved Driver in ASCS competition in 2000”

2001 Jason started the year off in Florida driving “The Shop Motorsports” sprinter, with a dash win against some of the toughest competition in the nation including the 2000 World of Outlaw Champion. All top 10 finishes at East Bay Raceway gave Jason the opportunity to drive for “Elden  Racing.” At Butler Speedway in Quincy, Michigan, Jason won his first All Star Circuit of Champions race on July 14th. Three open competition races were won, including two at Sharon Speedway in Ohio and one at Tri City Speedway in Pennsylvania. Jason also set new track records at Portsmouth Speedway in Ohio and Hartford Speedway in Michigan. A solid second in points with the All Star Circuit of Champions proved that Jason is a potential winner anywhere he goes. Then he began his second Australia season competing with the World Series Sprintcars. Two wins and twelve top fives in a fourteen-race schedule produced a second in the final point standings. He also was the first American to capture the Sprint Car Masters race since nineteen ninety-seven.
